Terms of Service

Please read these terms carefully before using this website or submitting any patient information. By accessing this site you agree to these terms.

1. Nature of Service — We Are Not a Medical Provider

Cancer and Hope is a clinical coordination and facilitation service. We are not a licensed hospital, clinic, diagnostic centre, or medical provider of any kind. We do not diagnose, treat, prescribe medication, or render any clinical judgment.

Our role is to facilitate access to specialist oncology review at Jinshazhou Hospital of Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine (GZUCM), to assist with logistics and coordination for Filipino patients seeking treatment in China, and to provide general educational information about cancer care options.

All treatment decisions are made exclusively by qualified, licensed physicians at Jinshazhou Hospital of GZUCM. Cancer and Hope coordinators are not medical professionals and do not provide clinical advice.

2. Information on This Website Is Not Medical Advice

The content published on this website — including articles, treatment descriptions, patient stories, FAQs, educational materials, and coordinator communications — is provided for informational and coordination purposes only. It does not constitute medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment recommendation.

You should always seek the advice of a qualified healthcare professional regarding any medical condition, diagnosis, or treatment decision. Do not disregard professional medical advice or delay seeking it because of something you have read on this website.

In a medical emergency, contact emergency services or go to the nearest hospital immediately.

3. No Guarantee of Treatment Outcomes

Cancer treatment outcomes are inherently uncertain and depend on many individual factors including cancer type, stage, prior treatment history, overall health, and the patient's own biology and response to therapy.

Cancer and Hope makes no representations, warranties, or guarantees — express or implied — regarding the effectiveness, success, or outcome of any treatment accessed through our coordination services. Patient stories published on this website reflect individual experiences. They are not indicative of results you or any other patient may achieve. Results may vary significantly.

The phrase "72-hour MDT review" refers to the time taken to compile a specialist panel's written assessment of your case — it does not constitute a promise of treatment acceptance, a guarantee of admission to Jinshazhou Hospital, or a commitment to any specific treatment course.

4. Assessment Tour and Information Sessions

Cancer and Hope periodically organises in-person information and case review sessions in the Philippines where visiting Chinese medical professionals present clinical information and discuss individual patient cases in a coordination context.

These sessions are facilitated as informational case review discussions, not as formal medical consultations, clinical examinations, or diagnostic sessions under Philippine law. Participants are encouraged to continue working with their own licensed Philippine oncologists and treating physicians for all formal diagnosis and treatment decisions.

Participation in any Cancer and Hope information session does not create a physician–patient relationship between the participant and any visiting medical professional or Cancer and Hope.

5. Patient Data and Privacy

The collection, use, storage, and transfer of personal and medical data submitted through this website is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

By submitting any form on this website, you confirm that you have read and understood our Privacy Policy and you consent to the processing of your personal data as described therein.

If you are submitting information on behalf of another person (e.g., a family member), you confirm that you have authority to do so and that you have informed the patient of this Privacy Policy.

6. Accuracy of Information You Provide

You are responsible for ensuring that all personal, medical, and financial information you submit through this website is accurate, complete, and up to date. Providing false or misleading information may affect the quality of the specialist review or coordination services you receive and may constitute a breach of these Terms.

7. Financial Terms and Costs

Cancer and Hope coordination services (including initial case review) may be provided at no charge to the patient. However, the following costs remain the sole responsibility of the patient and their family:

  • All medical treatment costs at Jinshazhou Hospital of GZUCM
  • Travel, accommodation, and daily living expenses in Guangzhou
  • Visa application fees and associated documentation costs
  • Medical repatriation or emergency assistance costs
  • Any fees associated with MDT review or formal specialist consultations at GZUCM

Treatment costs at GZUCM typically range from USD $20,000 to $60,000 depending on the procedure and course of treatment. This range is indicative only — actual costs depend on individual case complexity and length of stay. All costs are disclosed by GZUCM directly before any treatment commitment is made.

Cancer and Hope accepts no financial liability for costs incurred during or after treatment in China.

8. Intellectual Property

All content on this website — including text, graphics, page layouts, educational materials, and branding — is the intellectual property of Cancer and Hope and is protected under applicable copyright law. You may not reproduce, distribute, or republish any content without prior written permission, except for personal, non-commercial reference.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Cancer and Hope and its coordinators shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from:

  • Your use of, or inability to use, this website or its services
  • Any treatment decisions made by physicians at Jinshazhou Hospital of GZUCM
  • Medical outcomes of any treatment received in China
  • Delays, cancellations, or changes to assessment tour schedules
  • Reliance on information published on this website
  • Unauthorised access to or alteration of your data transmissions

This limitation does not affect any statutory rights you may have under Philippine consumer protection law (R.A. 7394) that cannot be excluded by contract.

10. Governing Law

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines. Any dispute arising from or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Philippines.

Where your data is transferred to and processed in the People's Republic of China (specifically by Jinshazhou Hospital of GZUCM), those data processing activities are additionally governed by Chinese law, including China's Personal Information Protection Law (PIPL, 2021).

11. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms of Service at any time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of this website after any changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
